Female students being admitted in Public Universities with two points lower- Is it right?

This year, as is the case with many years before, the Joint admissions board announced that male students will be admitted with 63 points while female students will be admitted with 61 points. This reverse discrimination, also known as Affirmative action, has long existed in order to give a chance to those who were previously marginalized to catch up with the rest of the society.
The Joint Admissions Board as well as national schools are some of the institutions that use affirmative action.A difference of just two points represents a couple thousand students.
