The bachelor Science in Environmental/public health is a course mainly concerned with the public sanitation.
This is important so as to maintain the health in the community and therefore prevent diseases and the loss of lives. By its very nature, the course aims at preventive measures to help in the outbreak of diseases, and in the general well being of the populace in a community. As usual, there will be units in microbiology, biochemistry, community health, sociology, first aid, medicine, pediatrics among other core units.
The major employer is the ministry of health through the district and county hospitals. One can also work for NGOs such as Red Cross, save a Child, Oxfam, among other relevant NGOs.
